Associate/Assistant Synchronized Skating Coach - The Colonials
(Mar 2008) The Colonials, a world-ranked, elite synchronized skating organization, are looking to expand their coaching staff under the direction of Merita Mullen, Director of Synchronized Skating.
With a history for having produced consecutive Junior World Challenge Cup teams, 20 years of medal competitors at the US Championships in 3 different levels, and 15 years of internationally competitive Junior teams, The Colonial's mission is to train and develop teams that will be national and international competitors, encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship, and supporting individual skaters as they seek to achieve their unique potential, and teams of skaters as they seek together to achieve their full potential as a team. The team seeks a coach with a passion for the sport and with aspirations to grow and learn under the tutelage of one of the United States' most highly regarded coaches.
Applicants must have current knowledge of the ISU judging system at all levels and be either a current member or willing to join the Professional Skaters Association (PSA). They must have extensive experience in synchronized skating at a minimum at the junior or senior national level and preferably at the international level. In addition, they must have passed high level U.S. Figure Skating tests to be accepted as a coach at the Colonial Figure Skating Club. (Canadian applicants may substitute Skate Canada tests and other foreign applicants may substitute equivalent experience through their respective ISU member federation.)
The ability to travel to competitions and flexibility to participate positively in all synchronized skating practices at all levels is required.
